Nancy Tillinghast joined AGB Search as a Research Associate in 2010. Ms. Tillinghast is the former director of the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) for the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). She first served the AAMC as associate director of support services for the section for student services in 1998.
Prior to coming to Washington D.C., Ms. Tillinghast served for fifteen years as assistant vice-president/treasurer at Ithaca College. In that capacity, she was staff liaison for the board Finance and Investment Committee and a member of the College’s accreditation teams. A member of the president’s cabinet, she served on several senior leadership search committees and was a member of the college’s diversity awareness committee. Earlier in her career, Ms. Tillinghast served for six years as comptroller and four years in admissions and student services at Wells College. At Wells, she was staff liaison to the board for budget and finance and buildings and grounds. She participated in senior leadership search committees and was an integral member of the College’s accreditation team. While in New York, Ms. Tillinghast served on the board of EACUBO and on the Board of Directors for Challenge Industries, a non-profit vocational services organization. Following her retirement from the AAMC, Ms. Tillinghast became an active volunteer in civic and educational organizations.
Ms. Tillinghast is a Virginia Master Gardener, and regularly presents programs on sustainable gardening practices in Fairfax County, Virginia. She is a classroom volunteer and mentor in a Fairfax elementary school and a past board member of her community HOA and church vestry. A graduate of Hathaway Brown School in Ohio, Ms. Tillinghast serves on the Head’s Council at HB. Ms. Tillinghast earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from Wells College. She also completed NACUBO’s executive leadership institute and the NACUBO/SACUBO College Business Management Institute.
