Nancy Tillinghast joined AGB Search as a research associate in 2010. She has supported a variety of searches for private and public higher education institutions and systems, including searches for presidents, vice presidents, provosts, and deans and directors. Ms. Tillinghast is the former director of the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) for the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). Prior to coming to Washington D.C., Ms. Tillinghast served for fifteen years as assistant vice-president/treasurer at Ithaca College. In that capacity, she was staff liaison for the board Finance and Investment Committee and a member of the College’s accreditation teams. A member of the president’s cabinet, she served on several senior leadership search committees and was a member of the college’s diversity awareness committee. Earlier in her career, Ms. Tillinghast served for six years as comptroller and four years in admissions and student services at Wells College. At Wells, she was staff liaison to the board for budget and finance and buildings and grounds. She participated in senior leadership search committees and was an integral member of the College’s accreditation team. While in New York, Ms. Tillinghast served on the board of EACUBO and on the Board of Directors for Challenge Workforce Solutions, a non-profit vocational services organization. Ms. Tillinghast is a Virginia Master Gardener, and regularly presents programs on sustainable gardening practices in Fairfax County, Virginia. She is a past board member of her community HOA and church vestry. A graduate of Hathaway Brown School in Ohio, Ms. Tillinghast serves on the Head’s Council at HB. Ms. Tillinghast earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from Wells College. She also completed NACUBO’s executive leadership institute and the NACUBO/SACUBO College Business Management Institute.
