Njuguna Kabugi joined AGB Search in 2019. He is primarily responsible for developing written proposals and soliciting new business in support of all aspects of executive search in higher education. In a career that spans more than 30 years, Njuguna has worked as a journalist, proposal writing coach, newsroom manager and college professor. He previously worked as a proposal and business development manager at Northrop Grumman, Deloitte Consulting and Verizon Communications. Prior to that, Njuguna managed news and multimedia services for WorldSpace Corporation, a pioneering satellite broadcaster that served international markets in Africa and Asia.
Njuguna also worked as a program officer at the National Science Foundation where he managed science communication and education outreach programs for the U.S. Government's premier science funding agency. He was a strategist on communication for the Third International Mathematics and Science Study—a worldwide comparison of science and mathematics education and has held faculty positions at Bethune-Cookman University, Florida; and at Maryland-based Bowie State University and Price George’s Community College.
Njuguna was Editor of the Washington Informer Newspaper, and a consultant for dailies owned by the New York Times in Florida. He was awarded the Wilton C. Scott Award for Scholastic Journalism by the Southern Regional Press Institute for outstanding contributions to journalism education.
