Dr. Giese began his career as a faculty member and coach at Averett College where, in his second year, he was named Dixie Conference Basketball Coach of the Year.  He then moved to the University of Mount Union in a similar position, before being appointed Vice President for Enrollment and later as Vice President for Advancement.  He then assumed the Presidency at Monmouth College, during which time the college experienced unprecedented growth campus wide.  He then returned to the University of Mount Union as President for the decade immediately preceding his joining AGB Search.  Upon his retirement from Mount Union, Dr. and Mrs. Giese were recognized by having the Giese Center for the Performing Arts named in their honor.
