Linfield College invites nominations and applications for the position of Chief Information Officer. This senior-level position reports to the Vice President for Finance and Administration and offers a remarkable opportunity for a senior IT professional to provide leadership and vision in the changing landscape of higher education.

Established in 1858, Linfield College is an independent, comprehensive institution of higher education known for its strong teaching faculty (11:1 student-to-faculty ratio), international study opportunities (44% of students study abroad), and professional programs. Linfield offers 56 majors to approximately 1,989 students. The student body has grown increasingly diverse over the past decade, and now includes 34% U.S. students of color, 24% low-income students (Pell Grant recipients), 28% first-generation college students, and 22% transfer students. The main campus is located on 189 park-like acres just south of charming historic downtown McMinnville, in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. The college is ranked among the first tier of national liberal arts colleges by U.S. News and World Report. The U.S. State Department honored Linfield for being Oregon’s top producer of Fulbright Scholars in 2017-18. 

Linfield College is seeking a creative, future-focused, and high energy IT leader who will work closely with the Vice President for Finance and Administration and senior leaders to provide a quality IT program and explore new leadership opportunities and initiatives. The person filling this position will hold a Master’s degree in computer science or related field, have seven or more years of management level IT experience (preferably at a college or university), and demonstrate a track record of career advancement and achievement.

Additional selection criteria include an understanding of higher education and an excitement about the mission and future of Linfield College, excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, a strong understanding of higher education management information needs, extensive knowledge of information technology, experience in the organization and effective management of a complex IT program staff, and knowledge of principles and practices for managing IT resources.
