Wheaton College, located in Wheaton, Illinois, is pleased to announce its search for the College’s next Chief Intercultural Engagement Officer. The college seeks an exceptional individual who will play a central role in fostering and sustaining a compelling vision for biblical diversity and embrace the challenge of deepening ethnic diversity, promoting racial unity, and advancing intercultural understanding in the pursuit of campus-wide excellence. This exciting opportunity is ideal for a mature, growing, servant leader who finds secure personal and communal identity in Jesus Christ, is resilient and able to persevere through difficult challenges, and who is hospitable to people with diverse experiences and expectations from a broad range of backgrounds. 

The CIEO will be active listener and grace-filled motivator who commands respect and engenders trust of faculty, staff, students, and alumni. The appointee will oversee a campus-wide Diversity Council, collaborate with campus leaders to design, implement, and assess curricular and co-curricular initiatives that embody Wheaton’s “Christ-centered Diversity Commitment” and advance the College’s strategic priorities of deepening ethnic diversity and globalizing a Wheaton education. 

It is preferred that the successful candidate hold a terminal degree in a field relevant to the duties of this position. The individual is expected to have at least five years of experience in a role of administrative leadership requiring racial and cultural sensitivity, as well as five years of experience in a role that effectively promoted unity in diversity, preferably in Christian higher education.
