Located in the vibrant and growing capital city of Iowa, the University enrolls more than 1,500 students in three colleges, offering eight degree programs in medicine and the health sciences. The DMU mission is to improve lives in our global community by educating diverse groups of highly competent and compassionate health professionals.

The College of Health Sciences (CHS) was established in 1980 and enrolled its first students in the physician assistant program in 1981. The University seeks an engaging, entrepreneurial, and collaborative leader who is a highly effective administrator in all dimensions and will implement the vision for the College of Health Sciences. Reporting to the Provost, the Dean is responsible for providing collaborative and consultative academic leadership for all matters within the College of Health Sciences. The Dean has oversight of all programs including the curriculum, planning and management of the operating budget, and development of a strategic plan for the College aligned with the institutional vision as established by the Board and President.
