Springfield College, located in historic Springfield, Massachusetts, announces the search for the next Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences (A&S). The Dean reports to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and is responsible for creating an environment that is conducive to excellence in teaching, advising, scholarship and service, and the education of students’ spirit, mind, and body for leadership in service to others. The School of Arts and Sciences invites nominations and applications for this outstanding opportunity which will be available July 1, 2021. The deadline for applications is March 31, 2021.

The Position
Ideal candidates will have experience as an academic administrator, dean, division head or department chair that encompasses financial/budgetary experience, including grants and funded programs.  They will possess an interdisciplinary background or experiences demonstrating a broader view beyond their own discipline.  A big picture thinker with strong communication and relationship building skills, they will take an active part in student engagement and the College culture which is committed to leadership and service to others.
