Capital University (CU) is a private four-year undergraduate institution and graduate school situated in the vibrant city of Columbus, OH and ranked one of the fastest-growing big cities in the nation. CU seeks a skilled marketing executive to lead an aggressive expansion and restructuring of the marketing function resulting in the development of both a brand infrastructure and marketing campaign that will increase Capital’s visibility, name recognition and student representation throughout Ohio and the Midwest. The Executive Director of Marketing is a cabinet member and will report to President Kaufman.
Capital University is a private, not-for-profit, undergraduate institution and graduate school located in Columbus, Ohio. With nearly 43,000 living alumni, Capital has been an agent in shaping engaged citizen leaders who improve their industries, communities and society since its founding in 1830 and charter as a university in 1850. The picturesque, residential campus is located in Bexley, adjacent to Capital’s Trinity Lutheran Seminary. The Law School is located four miles west in downtown Columbus, the 14th largest city in the United States.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of ten years of marketing experience, and five years of progressive management experience in higher education and/or corporate marketing. A Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a closely related field is required. Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field is strongly preferred. As a member of the President’s Cabinet, the Executive Director of Marketing is responsible for the leadership, management, and planning of the marketing and communication strategies. The successful candidate will be a proven leader with experience in brand management, publications, media relations, social media, and strategic communications.
