Nazareth College, a vibrant, comprehensive, religiously independent institution, located on a classic campus outside Rochester, NY, seeks a proven leader to serve as its 10th president. The new President will have a deep commitment to providing excellent liberal arts and professional education to the College’s approximately 3,000 graduate and undergraduate students and will enthusiastically embrace joining the Rochester community. 

Founded in 1924, Nazareth College challenges students to rise to their potential. With an innovative core curriculum and programs in the liberal arts, sciences and professions, the College successfully navigates current and emerging higher education needs. Nazareth prepares students to be successful professionals and engaged citizens by providing more than 60 undergraduate and 30 graduate programs and an integrated student experience. 

The next president of Nazareth College will be an inspiring, collaborative, and visionary leader capable of deeply committing to a comprehensive college that integrates liberal arts and sciences with professional programs and prepares graduates not just for a job, but for their life’s work. An astute understanding of the challenges facing 21st-century higher education is required. It is also expected that the 10th President will model values-driven leadership and advocate for education that includes experiential learning and civic engagement. 

The next president also will have earned distinction as an institutional leader with a record of progressive responsibility, financial acumen, and business experience comparable in complexity and scope to that of the College and the courage to make critical decisions. Personal characteristics of integrity, a sense of humor, humility, diplomacy, emotional intelligence, an ability to navigate change and an uncompromising work ethic are necessities.

The Search Committee will begin to review applications in September and continue until an appointment is made.
