The Board of Trustees of Rockhurst University, a Catholic, Jesuit University, has commissioned a national search for its next president. Founded in 1910 and located in the heart of Kansas City, Missouri, Rockhurst is committed to providing inclusive, innovative, and transformative education while welcoming students of all faith traditions. As a comprehensive University with nearly 4,000 students, the University’s mission is to form lifelong learners in the liberal arts tradition who engage the complexities of our world and serve others as compassionate, thoughtful leaders.
Rockhurst’s next president will succeed the Rev. Thomas B. Curran, S.J., who has successfully led the University since 2006. The next president will build on Fr. Curran’s legacy and will lead and promote the mission; articulate an inspiring, compelling vision; ensure financial sustainability; advance a strong and engaged campus community; enhance external and community partnerships; advance justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion; continue building a culture of philanthropy; embrace innovation; and serve as a thought leader in higher education. The ideal candidate will be a committed Catholic and will be excited to embrace Ignatian spirituality and model servant-leadership in all aspects of religious, professional, and civic life.
