The Washington Center, located in Washington D.C., is pleased to announce the search for its next President/CEO. TWC seeks an energetic, actively engaged leader who possesses team building skills and well-established networks to serve as TWC's lead ambassador. The next president will possess an entrepreneurial approach that will bring an accomplished organization to a new strategic vision. The search committee seeks a groundbreaking leader with managerial expertise, financial acumen and a value-added mindset with an understanding of and affinity for experiential education and public service.
The Washington Center, established in 1975 by founder William M. (Bill) Burke is a nonprofit organization providing internships and academic seminars in the nation’s capital and virtually across the nation. TWC stands as the largest, most established internship program in the country that enables students to move from an on-campus major to a professional identity with career readiness. A key strength, built over time, is an unparalleled roster of 380 actively-engaged employer partners. The Washington Center exists for its students and prides itself on their geographic, racial, socioeconomic, and political diversity. In 2019, TWC enrolled a total of 1,782 students and today has more than 60,000 alumni.
