Lafayette College, an independent, highly selective, coeducational institution with a strong history of success in both liberal arts and engineering, is seeking an innovative and accomplished leader to serve as their next Provost, under the leadership of the College’s 18th President, Nicole F. Hurd. Founded by the citizens of Easton, Pennsylvania in 1826, Lafayette College has a rich history in the Lehigh Valley, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and beyond.
The Provost serves as the Chief Academic Officer of the college, responsible for all aspects of the academic endeavor of Lafayette, ensuring the success of their 2,700 students, and the faculty and staff who support their varied and forward-facing academic pursuits. The Provost is crucial to upholding the College’s Mission and its commitment to excellence in the liberal arts and engineering; hiring and supporting outstanding and well credentialed faculty; ensuring the efficacy of curricula grounded in clear learning outcomes; leading the faculty in ongoing and meaningful assessment of student learning and success; and facilitating deep and sustained learning leading to self-discovery through critical thinking.
