Seminole State College of Florida, founded in 1965, is seeking nominations and applications for its next Vice President, Academic Affairs. The College has grown to become a cutting-edge, four campus institution, serving more than 25,000 students annually from 42 states and 60 countries around the world. Seminole State’s strategic plan and mission underscore the College’s keen focus on people including the students, employees, and partners, as well as the cultural vitality of the region by providing exemplary learning opportunities for the diverse community in which they serve.

The next Vice President, Academic Affairs at Seminole State College will possess a terminal degree; collegiate teaching experience is preferred. As a mission driven and collaborative servant leader, the successful candidate will possess strong social skills, a demonstrated commitment to academic excellence, parity in educational outcomes, and the capacity to develop a shared vision and implement a strategic plan for academic affairs. In addition, the next Vice President will be an educational and academic leader who is forward thinking, entrepreneurial, and compassionate with the College community to advance the institution’s mission and vision.

Nominations and Applications

The VPAA Screening Committee will immediately begin the review of applications and continue work until an appointment is made. To ensure full consideration, applications should be received by February 15, 2023.

Applications must include:

  1. A letter of interest that responds to the Opportunities and Challenges and the Qualities and Qualifications sections of the VPAA Search Profile. The letter of interest should be addressed to: Barbara Coleman-Foster, Chair, Seminole State College’s Vice-Presidential Screening Committee.
  2. A curriculum vitae, and
  3. The names and contact information (telephone and email) of five professional references (none of whom will be contacted without the permission of the candidate).
