Director of Liturgical Press

St. John’s Abbey has announced the appointment of Dr. Therese Ratliff as Director of Liturgical Press. Dr. Ratliff is currently serving as the Publisher of the Books and Devotionals Division for Bayard, Inc. Dr. Ratliff is a seasoned, enthusiastic publishing professional with over 25 years’ experience in various aspects of the book publishing industry. Her previous positions include Publisher at Twenty-Third Publications and Senior Acquisitions Editor at Pauline Books and Media Publishing. Dr. Ratliff holds a Ph.D. in Education and Theology from Boston College and a MBA in Theology from St. Michael’s College. Read more here.

The Southern University System Board of Supervisors has selected Dennis J. Shields as the next President of the Southern University System and Chancellor of Southern University and A&M College. Previously, Mr. Shields served as Chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville since 2010.

La Salle University has selected Daniel J. Allen, Ph.D., a senior vice president at DePaul University, as its 30th President. He will assume the presidency on April 18, 2022.  Dr. Allen earned his Ph.D. in education at Loyola University-Chicago, his MA in physical education and BA in English literature from Loras College in Iowa. Read more here.

The California State University (CSU) Board of Trustees has appointed Richard Yao, Ph.D., to serve as the fourth president of California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI) after serving as interim president since January 2021. Dr. Yao is a licensed clinical psychologist who came to CSUCI from Nevada State College.

Dr. David Balkin has been appointed the 12th President of SUNY-Erie Community College. Since 2019, Dr. Balkin has served as the Chancellor of the South Bend-Elkhart campus of Ivy Tech Community College in Indiana. Previously he served as associate director of regional development and as Managing Director of the Center for Nano Science and Technology (NDnano) at the University of Notre Dame. Dr. Balkin has extensive senior management experience in business and industry including finance, microelectronics and engineering. Dr. Balkin earned his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, M.S. and B.S. from the University of Notre Dame. Dr. Balkin will assume his role effective February 1, 2022. Read more here.

Morningside University has appointed Dr. Albert Mosley as the 13th president of the University. Dr. Mosley, who currently serves as the senior vice president and chief mission integration officer for Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, will start his presidency in June 2022. Prior to that, Dr. Mosley served as executive vice president and COO at Bethune-Cookman University responsible for the overall direction and coordination of five university divisions. Dr. Mosley earned his Ed.D at the University of Georgia in higher education administration and his D.D. (Doctor of Divinity) from Liberia Baptist Theological Seminary. Read more here.

Mr. Jerald "Jerry" Paul is the newly appointed 15th President of Maine Maritime Academy (MMA). Mr. Paul presently is President of Capital Access. Previously, Mr. Paul served as Principal Deputy Administrator of the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration. He is a 1989 graduate MMA. After MMA, he earned a Postbaccalaureate Degree in Nuclear Engineering with High Honors, and a Juris Doctor of Law, Cum Laude. MMA looks forward to his arrival on campus in Spring of 2022. Dakota Wesleyan University has appointed Dr. Daniel R. Kittle as it’s 21st president. Dr. Kittle will assume the presidency of DWU in March 202. He currently serves as the Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students at Wartburg College. Dr. Kittle earned a B.S. in public relations and political science from Heidelberg University, an M.A. in political science and a Ph.D. in higher, adult, learning and education from Michigan State University (MSU). In 2009, Dr. Kittle completed the Foundations of Christian Leadership program through Duke University. Read more here.

Howard Community College has appointed Dr. Daria Willis as the fifth president of the college. Dr. Willis currently serves as president of Everett Community College in Washington. She will become the first African American to lead Howard Community College. Dr. Willis's presidency begins on January 10, 2022, succeeding Dr. Kate Hetherington, who retired after 14 years as president. Prior to her presidency, Dr. Willis was the provost and senior vice president of academic affairs at Onondaga Community College of the State University of New York. Other leadership positions include dean of academic studies at Lee College in Baytown, Texas; executive dean of centers/dean of instruction at Lone Star College-North Harris Greenspoint Center and Victory Center, Texas; and department chair of social and behavioral sciences and kinesiology at Lone Star College-University Park Campus and the Faculty Senate president. Dr. Willis earned her Ph.D. in history from Florida State University; her master’s degree in history and bachelor’s degree in history education from Florida A&M University, a historically Black college in Florida. Dr. Kyle Farmbry joins Guilford College as their 10th president effective January 1st, 2022. Dr. Farmbry currently serves as a Professor of Public Administration in the School of Public Affairs and Administration at Rutgers University, where he previously served as Dean of the Graduate School.  Dr. Farmbry holds a bachelor's degree in International Affairs, a master's in Public Administration, and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Public Administration from the George Washington University. In 2013, Farmbry earned his Juris Doctorate from the Rutgers University School of Law. His training includes having served as an American Council on Education (ACE) Fellow at the University of Pretoria in Pretoria, South Africa, a Fullbright Research Scholar in Malta, and a Fullbright New Century Scholar in Cape Town, South Africa. Dr. Farmbry was elected a Fellow of The National Academy of Public Administration in 2021.  Read more here.
