Cornell University has appointed Ms. Sonia Rucker as the associate vice president of the Department of Inclusion and Belonging and the staff representative on the Presidential Advisors on Diversity and Equity. She most recently served as vice president of equity, access and behavioral health and the dean of students at Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO). Prior to moving to SEMO, Rucker worked at Cornell for nine years. Dr. Kyle Farmbry joins Guilford College as their 10th president effective January 1st, 2022. Dr. Farmbry currently serves as a Professor of Public Administration in the School of Public Affairs and Administration at Rutgers University, where he previously served as Dean of the Graduate School.  Dr. Farmbry holds a bachelor's degree in International Affairs, a master's in Public Administration, and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Public Administration from the George Washington University. In 2013, Farmbry earned his Juris Doctorate from the Rutgers University School of Law. His training includes having served as an American Council on Education (ACE) Fellow at the University of Pretoria in Pretoria, South Africa, a Fullbright Research Scholar in Malta, and a Fullbright New Century Scholar in Cape Town, South Africa. Dr. Farmbry was elected a Fellow of The National Academy of Public Administration in 2021.  Read more here.

AGB has announced that Dr. R. Barbara (Bobby) Gitenstein, PhD, has been appointed to the role of Senior Vice President for Consulting. Dr. Gitenstein will serve on the Leadership Team reporting directly to CEO, Henry Stoever. She will begin service with AGB on Monday, October 11, 2021. Dr. Gitenstein currently serves as an AGB Senior Fellow and Senior Consultant. She brings more than 40 years of experience as a college professor and administrator in both public and private sectors to the position. As the first woman to serve in the role of president of The College of New Jersey, she serves as president emerita after nearly 20 years in the presidential role. Previously, Dr. Gitenstein served as the first woman provost and executive vice president at Drake University for over six years. Read more here.

The University of North Carolina at Charlotte has appointed Dr. Brandon L. Wolfe as Associate Vice Chancellor for Diversity and Inclusion/Chief Diversity Officer. Dr. Wolfe joins UNC Charlotte’s staff with a breadth of experience in diversity in higher education, most recently serving as the Assistant Vice President of Campus and Community Engagement in the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s (UAB) Office of the Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion since 2016. At Charlotte, Dr. Wolfe will coordinate with staff, faculty and students to build on the University’s diversity and inclusion efforts to create an accessible, inclusive and equitable climate, as well as identify and address potential barriers and institutional systems that may foster systemic inequalities. Dr. Wolfe holds a Ph.D. in Administration of Higher Education, M.Ed in Adult Education and BA in Psychology from Auburn University. Read more here.

North Dakota State College of Science has announced the appointment of Dr. Lisa Karch as the new Vice President for Instruction. Dr. Karch currently serves as Interim Dean of Graduate and Extended Learning at Minnesota State University Moorhead. She earned her B.A. in Secondary Health Education from Concordia College and her M.Ed. in Counseling and Ph.D. in Human Development and Education from North Dakota State University. Franklin College has appointed Kevin Honigford as the new Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.  As noted in the campus announcement, "Mr. Honigford was most recently the Chief Financial Officer at the Ivy Tech Foundation, where he served since 2008 leading the foundation’s financial, investment and real estate acquisition functions.  He helped steward the foundation through a period of significant growth and was named the 2015 CFO of the Year by the Indiana Business Journal."

Kennesaw State University has appointed Dr. Roslyn Satchel as the inaugural Lead Researcher of the newly formed Radow Institute for Social Equity (RISE) effective January 1, 2022. Dr. Satchel is currently the Blanche E. Seaver Professor of Communication at Pepperdine University. Dr. Satchel holds a J.D. from Emory Law School as well as a Ph.D. from LSU. A nationally renowned scholar and a Berkman Klein Center Fellow at Harvard Law School, Dr. Satchel's research focuses on social movements, gendered violence and racialized gender issues in media, religion and law. Dr. Satchel earned her Juris Doctor and Master of Divinity degrees from Emory University, a Ph.D. in Media and Public Affairs from Louisiana State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Howard University. Read more here.

Norfolk State University has announced that Dr. Denelle Wallace-Alexander has been appointed as Dean of the School of Education. For more than a decade, Dr. Wallace-Alexander has been an engaged scholar and researcher while teaching and advising graduate students in the Professional School Counseling and Principal Preparation Programs. These experiences have served her well as a faculty member in the Department of Secondary Education and School Leadership at NSU. Since July 2018, Dr. Wallace-Alexander has been serving as Associate Dean and CAEP Coordinator in the School of Education. Dr. Wallace-Alexander received a Ph.D. in Urban Services with a concentration in Academic Leadership from Old Dominion University, an M.Ed. in School Counseling from Georgia State University, and a B.S. in Elementary Education from Old Dominion University. Read more here.
