
Liberty University has announced the appointment of Dr. Mark F. Horstemeyer as the new Dean of the School of Engineering.
Dr. Horstemeyer comes to Liberty University from Mississippi State University, where he has taught computational manufacturing and design as a Giles Distinguished Professor. He also served as Chair for Computational Solid Mechanics in the University’s Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems (CAVS), one of the world’s premier automotive research centers. As a global pioneer in Integrated Computational Materials Engineering (ICME), Dr. Horstemeyer is the founder and President of two start-up companies: Predictive Design Technologies and Yobel Technologies.
Dr. Horstemeyer holds a Ph.D. from the Georgia Institute of Technology, a Master of Science from Ohio State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from West Virginia University.

City University of New York Interim Chancellor Vita C. Rabinowitz has appointed Claudia V. Schrader president of Kingsborough Community College and made interim appointments for the top posts at Queensborough and Borough of Manhattan Community Colleges. Dr. Schrader is currently Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic and Student Success at Bronx Community College and previously served in senior positions at Medgar Evers College.

The South Dakota Board of Regents has appointed Paul B. Beran as the new executive director and chief executive officer. Prior to his appointment, Dr. Beran comes from the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith as the chancellor of the university. Dr. Beran assumes the position on or before September 4th.

Fairfield University is pleased to announce that Sean. M. Horan, PhD, has been appointed the new chair of the College of Arts and Sciences Communication Department. Dr. Horan, who was impressively identified as the fifth most published communication researcher between the years of 2012-2016, and the 21st most central communication scholar from 2007-2011, will begin his tenure in the fall of 2018.

The University of Minnesota Crookston search committee has placed Dr. John Hoffman as the vice chancellor for academic and student affairs of the university, scheduled to begin July 30, 2018. Dr. Hoffman comes from California State University, Fullerton, where he has served as chair of the Department of Education Leadership since 2013 and as director of the Doctor of Educational Leadership Program since 2012.
