Idaho State University (ISU) invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean of the Graduate School. The Dean of the Graduate School is responsible for providing overall administrative leadership to the University’s graduate academic programs. Reporting directly to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean is a member of the Academic Deans Council and provides academic leadership and executive management of the Graduate School. The next Dean will build upon a strong foundation of forward-looking programs, a talented and resourceful staff, and an engaged graduate council, while working with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and administrators across the university.
Professional qualifications for the position include but are not limited to: a terminal degree in one’s field, knowledge of current trends, challenges, and demands as they may relate to graduate education and scholarly activity at ISU, demonstrated success and commitment to enrollment growth through implementation of effective initiatives that support student recruitment, retention, and achievement. Significant experience working directly with graduate students, and an understanding of the unique needs involved in supporting graduate students, as well as the support needed for graduate program faculty and departments is required.
