Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Executive Director of the CSU Foundation

Ms. Rebecca Kocher has been appiointed as the new Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Executive Director of the CSU Foundation of Central State University, effective December 9, 2024. Ms.Kocher comes to Central State from Wittenberg University, where she served as Vice President for Advancement and Alumni Engagement.  Before joining Wittenberg, Ms. Kocher served at Bowling Green State University, as well as at Albion College and the University of Mary Washington. Ms. Kocher earned a B.A. in Speech Communications from Edinboro University. Director of Workforce and Career Development

Ms. Casey Cline has been appointed as the new Director of Workforce and Career Development of Lander University and will begin on January 1, 2025. Ms. Cline has been providing comprehensive and intentional career guidance to students for the past decade, serving most recently as the Director of Career and Professional Development at Newberry College since 2021. Prior to Newberry, Ms. Cline served for 4 years as a Disability and Career Services Counselor at Midlands Technical College. Ms. Cline holds master's degrees from Nazareth University in Higher Education Student Affairs Administration and in Clinical Art Therapy, and she holds a B.A. in Art Therapy from Mercyhurst University.

Vice President for Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer

Mr. David B. Moore has been appointed as the new Vice President for Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer of Ohio University, effective January 6, 2025. Mr. Moore has provided leadership for the University Budget Office at Rutgers University since 2019, serving as Chief Budget Officer and Assistant Vice President for Financial Planning and Analytics (2019-2020), Associate Vice President for Financial Planning and Analytics (2020-2022), and Vice President for Financial Planning and Analytics (2022-present). Prior to Rutgers, Mr. Moore served for 5 years in various capacities at George Mason University, including Associate Budget Director, Director of Budget and Planning Analysis, and Assistant Vice President and Chief Budget Officer. Senior Director of Prospect Research and Management

Mr. Bob Calhoun has been appointed as the new Senior Director of Prospect Research and Management of San Francisco State University. Mr. Calhoun will begin his new role on November 12th. Mr. Calhoun comes to San Francisco State from the Climate Leadership Initiative, where he has served as Senior Research Analyst since 2019.  Prior to CLI, he served as Senior Research Analyst at the University of California, Berkeley between 2008 and 2019. Mr. Calhoun earned a B.A. in Broadcasting and Electronic Communications Arts from San Francisco State University.

Vice President and Chief Information Officer

Dr. Lin Zhou has been appointed as the new Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Texas Tech University. Dr. Zhou begins his new role on September 23, 2024. Before joining TTU, Dr. Zhou served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at The New School in New York City. Prior to his role at The New School, Dr. Zhou played a critical role in leading IBM Watson Education from a start-up to a global leader of artificial intelligence in education. Dr. Zhou holds a Bachelor of Science from Nanjing University in China and a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Glasgow, UK. Consortium Library Dean

Mr. Tom Rosko has been appointed as the new Consortium Library Dean of University of Alaska Anchorage. He will begin transitioning into the role in late September. Mr. Rosko has over 30 years of experience working in libraries and archives. He comes to UAA from the Naval Postgraduate School, where he has served as university librarian since 2019. Mr. Rosko also previously served as head of the Institute Archives and Special Collections at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology libraries. He brings a breadth of leadership experience, with expertise in administration, policy, budget, strategic planning, collection development and management, outreach and engagement, preservation and more. Mr. Rosko, who received a Master of Library Science from Rutgers University and a bachelor's in history from Bucknell University, currently serves as an executive committee member of the Pacific Library Partnership, board member of the Monterey Bay Area Cooperative Library System and member of the Association of College and Research Libraries. An experienced public speaker, he has presented on a variety of topics, including digital archives and preservation, institutional repositories and strategies for digital information life-cycle management.

Vice President for Marketing & Communications

Lander University has successfully appointed Mr. Brian Apfel as their new Vice President for Marketing & Communications effective September 16. Mr. Apfel has served as the Director of Global Brand Marketing at Hertz Corporation for the past 3 years.  Prior to Hertz, he served as the Director of Marketing and Communication at Florida Gulf Coast University (2020-2021) and as the Director of Social Media and Digital Marketing at Marist College (2017-2020). Mr. Apfel holds a B.S. in Business Marketing, an M.S.in Information Systems Management, and an M.S. in Integrated Marketing Communication, all from Marist College. Read more.


 

Vice President for Marketing and Communications

Clemson University has successfully appointed Ms. Sharon Martin as their new Vice President for Marketing and Communications effective October 16, 2024. Serving as the Vice President for University Engagement and Chief Marketing Officer for West Virginia University since 2017, her additional areas of responsibility included university relations, alumni relations and enrollment management. Prior to joining West Virginia University, she held a variety of marketing roles at Purdue University, culminating in the position of Assistant Vice President of Marketing where she was responsible for advertising, strategic marketing, creative services, online experience, segment marketing and publications. She is an executive board member of the Council for Strategic Communications of the Association of Public Land-Grant Universities (APLU), has served as a member of various committees for the National Mortar Board, and has been active with local chapters of the American Marketing Association. The SUNY Board of Trustees and Chancellor John King have successfully appointed Dr. David Troilo as the new SUNY, College of Optometry President. Dr. Troilo currently serves as the Vice President and Dean for Academic Affairs at SUNY, College of Optometry. His journey with the College began in 2008 as a professor. With years of experience in eye and vision research at Cornell University and the University of Oxford, and higher education and administration at SUNY Optometry and the New England College of Optometry, Dr. Troilo is excited to lead the College into a new era of excellence in discovery, innovation, and patient care. Dr. Troilo is a Fellow of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (FARVO) and the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO). Over the years, Dr. Troilo has written several publications, books, chapters, and proceedings and earned numerous honors and awards. Two awards include the DuPuis-Pellerin Award for Faculty Excellence and the OD1 Teacher of the Year while serving as Professor and Director of Graduate Studies at The New England College of Optometry. Dr. Troilo holds a B.A. in Biology from SUNY, College of Oswego and a M.A. in Biology from The City College of New York. Dr. Troilo earned a Ph.D. in Biology from the City University of New York, as well as a post doctorate degree in Physiology from the University of Oxford and another in Biopsychology from Cornell. Vice President for Advancement & Chief Philanthropy Officer

Santa Fe College has successfully appointed Ms. Sherry Houston as their new Vice President for Advancement & Chief Philanthropy Officer effective September 16, 2024.Ms . Houston is a dynamic and results-driven executive with over 15 years of experience in fundraising, strategic planning, and team leadership in North Central Florida. Serving as the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Development Officer of Ronald McDonald House Charities North Central Florida since 2014, she has led successful capital campaigns that significantly expanded the organization’s services and capacity. Her extensive background includes leadership roles in behavioral healthcare and education, where she implemented strategic initiatives that increased donor engagement and revenue. She is also actively involved in community service, holding leadership positions in various local organizations, and has received multiple awards for her contributions to the community. Ms. Houston holds an MA in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Pittsburgh and a BA in Sociology from Franklin and Marshall College. Read more.
