
The Kansas Board of Regents announced the appointment of Mr. Ken Hush as the 18th President of Emporia State University, effective immediately. Mr. Hush has been serving as Interim President of ESU since November 2021. Mr. Hush is an ESU alum and his prior roles include CEO of BLI Rentals, President and several executive roles at Koch Minerals and Carbon, and General Manager and Director at Senior Commodity Company. George Mason University has appointed Mr. Ken Turchi, J.D. as Assistant Dean for Strategic Communications and Marketing of the Antonin Scalia Law School. He begins on June 27, 2022. Mr. Turchi joins George Mason University from his most recent role as Assistant Dean of Communications and Administration at Indiana University Maurer School of Law, where he served for 12 years. Prior to his time in academia, he worked in the private sector in the real estate and banking industries. He also founded a marketing and leadership development consulting practice for small businesses and nonprofit organizations. He received his A.B. from Wabash College and his J.D. from Indiana University Maurer School of Law.

Point Park University has appointed Mr. Andrew Clayton Hughey, J.D., as the General Counsel for Point Park University. He will begin in his new role on August 8th, 2022. Mr. Hughey is currently serving as Vice President and General Counsel at Ohio Northern University. He received his Juris Doctor from Duquesne University School of Law and a BA in Rhetoric and Communications from The University of Pittsburgh. PPU’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion is critically important, and Mr. Hughey will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience with him. Prior to his time at Ohio Northern, Andrew served as special assistant to the president for diversity and inclusion at the Community College of Allegheny County. While there, he managed an office that included the Title IX coordinator and a civil rights investigator. He also developed and executed programs promoting diversity and inclusion. He is a leader in the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA), having completed in June 2019 a three-year term as Board Secretary and otherwise served NACUA in numerous ways over three decades.

Marist College has announced the appointment of Dr. Will Lamb as the new Dean of the School of Management. Dr. Lamb currently serves as Dean of Graduate and Adult Learner Recruitment for EAB, Inc., a provider of educational research, marketing, and consulting services to colleges and universities, where he helped colleges and universities improve the strength of their academic programs and grow their enrollments. He will begin July 1, 2022. Previously, Dr. Lamb served as Dean of the LaPenta School of Business for Iona College, Dean of the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business for Babson College, Associate Dean for Graduate Programs at Ohio University, as well as teaching positions at both Millsaps College and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Business from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and a Master of Education in Instructional Technology and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Virginia. The California State University Los Angeles has announced the appointment of Dr. Stephen M. Trzaskoma as its new Dean of the College of Arts & Letters. He will begin on August 1st, 2022. Dr. Trzaskoma currently serves as the Director of the Center for the Humanities and Professor and former Chair of the Department of Classics, Humanities & Italian Studies at the University of New Hampshire (UNH), where he teaches ancient Greek literature, culture, and language. Throughout his 24-year career with UNH, Dr. Trzaskoma has focused on making his discipline and higher education in the arts and humanities more accessible and inclusive, particularly for members of historically marginalized communities. As the Center’s Director, he has been committed to strengthening UNH’s relationships with community partners such as the New Hampshire Indigenous Collaborative Collective and the Black Heritage Trail of New Hampshire. He has experience growing capacity for equitable arts and humanities collaborations between faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates from higher education institutions and communities. He holds a Ph.D. in Classical Philology and an A.M. in Classics from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an A.B. in Classics and Anthology from Stanford University.

Delaware Valley University has announced the appointment of Mr. Curtis M. Topper as the new Vice President for Finance and Administration. He will take up the position in July. Currently serving as the Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of General Services, Mr. Topper is a member of the Governor’s cabinet of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In this role, he has overseen the state government operating agency responsible for the procurement of goods and services, management of non-highway capital projects, management of the commonwealth’s real estate portfolio, increasing and advancing contracting opportunities for small and diverse businesses and the maintenance and protection of state-owned buildings and facilities. Mr. Topper is an experienced financial and shared services executive with a unique combination of government, corporate and higher education experience spanning over 25 years. Prior positions include AVP Purchasing, Contracts and Accounts payable at Georgetown University, Director of Shared Services and Outsourcing Advisory at KPMG and Chief Operating Officer of the Neiman Group in Philadelphia. As a Ph.D. candidate at Carnegie Mellon University, he holds a Master of Philosophy from Carnegie Mellon University and an A.B. in Political Science from Brown University. Read more here.

Point Park University has appointed Ms. Julie Cryser as the new Vice President of University Advancement. She began her duties at Point Park on May 31, 2022. She will oversee the offices of Alumni Engagement, Government Relations, Public Relations, and Grant Support. In addition, her division will coordinate the fundraising activities of Athletics, the Center for Media Innovation, the Pittsburgh Playhouse, as well as academic program fundraising in conjunction with the academic deans. Ms. Cryser joins the Point Park community from Pierpont Community & Technical College, where she was vice president for Institutional Advancement and foundation director. Prior to her time at Pierpoint, she spent time as president of the Fairmont State University Foundation and in several advancement and development roles at West Virginia University.

Ms. Sarah Mouch has been appointed as the new Vice President for Administration and Finance at Blackburn College. She will begin her duties with Blackburn on August 15, 2022. Ms. Mouch is currently the Chief Financial Officer at the Methodist Theological School in Ohio, a role she has held since 2018. At the Methodist Theological School, she oversaw the annual budget, an endowment of over $50 million, and worked extensively in the areas of compliance, retirement plans, insurance, and risk management. Ms. Mouch also has experience in the corporate world, including in the areas of banking and insurance. She has a BA in accounting from Lakeland University and an MBA from the University of Michigan-Flint.

Mr. Jeremy Alltop has been appointed as the new Vice President for Administration and Finance at Northern Kentucky University. Mr. Alltop will begin July 1, 2022. Mr. Alltop comes to NKU from Lamar University, where he serves as vice president of finance and operations/chief financial and operating officer. Prior to his time at Lamar University, Alltop served as the senior associate dean of administration and finance/chief financial and operating officer at the University of Nevada – Reno School of Medicine. He has also worked at The Ohio State University as chief financial officer in Student Health Services/Student Success Services and held positions at the University of Kentucky, Indiana University and West Virginia University.
