Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean of the College of Health Sciences. The university seeks a collaborative and visionary academic leader who will advance program excellence, strengthen accreditation performance, grow enrollment in high-demand health fields, and expand partnerships that position the college as a regional leader in workforce-aligned health education.

Reporting to the provost and serving as a member of the university’s academic leadership team, the dean will provide strategic leadership across academic programming, faculty development, research growth, fiscal stewardship, and external engagement. The dean will guide the college during a transformative period in higher education and healthcare, requiring innovation, adaptability, and a strong commitment to student success.

The next dean will play a critical role in strengthening interprofessional education, expanding community partnerships, and building meaningful academic and research connections with the proposed IUP College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM). This emerging institutional initiative presents an opportunity to align clinical education, interdisciplinary scholarship, and workforce development in distinctive and impactful ways.

The College of Health Sciences at IUP prepares students to become highly qualified professionals dedicated to improving the health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities. In 2024, the university implemented a new academic structure that included new colleges and departmental configurations to create more and stronger opportunities for student and faculty research and collaboration. The new College of Health Sciences is strengthened by bringing together the departments of Allied Health, Nursing, and Psychology, which share a broad focus on the science of health and well-being. The college is uniquely positioned to work closely with IUP’s proposed college of osteopathic medicine.
