The Federation Early Learning Services (FELS) Board of Directors seeks the Organization’s next President & Chief Executive Officer. Serving in partnership with a committed and engaged Board, the President & CEO is responsible for the success of the Organization and should be similarly committed to its mission and vision.
Reporting directly to the Chair of the Board of Directors, the President & CEO is responsible for the management and day-to-day operations of FELS and has the authority to carry out these responsibilities in accordance with the direction and policies established by the Board. The President & CEO provides leadership and vision for the effective management, growth, and profitability of the Organization as a non-profit, enabling the Board to conduct its governance functions.
For over a century, FELS has been providing excellence in early childhood education (ECE) for families from diverse backgrounds throughout the Greater Philadelphia area, Montgomery County, and Delaware County. Built on a foundation of Jewish values and traditions, FELS is a recognized leader in ECE and actively works to help families access affordable childcare, provide innovative programs for children, and offer consultation services to the early childhood community.
The ideal candidate should lead the organization with a collaborative, results-driven approach and possess a Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Early Childhood Education, Human Services Administration, or Business Administration) and at least six years of experience in administration, supervision, program development, budgeting, fundraising, and grants administration, preferably in non-profit leadership within early childhood education. Key competencies include a strong focus on teamwork, strategic planning, customer-centricity, decisive judgment, and a proven ability to achieve results. The candidate must demonstrate exceptional leadership skills to inspire and mentor a diverse team, coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to engage stakeholders and foster partnerships. A successful track record of managing a mid-sized organization with high-functioning, accurate systems is essential.
