President

Prince George’s Community College has announced the selection of Dr. Falecia D. Williams as the College’s ninth president. Dr. Williams assumed her role prior to the start of the fall semester in August 2020.

Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Southern Connecticut State University has appointed Dr. Diane Ariza as it’s new Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. She will assume her new role in July, 2020.  Dr. Ariza brings more than two decades’ experience of administrative leadership in social justice and a background of teaching and research in ethnic studies. She has served as a board member of the National Association for Chief Diversity Officers in Higher Education (NADOHE) Conference. Dr. Ariza is currently Vice President for Community and Belonging at Nazareth College in Rochester, N.Y.   Dr. Ariza holds a Doctorate of Philosophy in Sociology from Western Michigan University (WMU), a Master of Arts in Anthropology from WMU and her Bachelor’s degree from Stetson University in Florida. Dean of the College of Letters and Science

Dr. Yves Idzerda has been named dean of the Montana State University College of Letters and Science. Dr. Idzerda currently serves as head of the Department of Physics and professor of physics at MSU. He joined MSU as associate professor of physics in 2000. From 2004 to 2009 he served as associate director of the MSU Center for BioInspired Nanomaterials. He was named head of the physics department in 2013.  Dr. Idzerda has received numerous awards, including the Charles and Nora L. Wiley Award for Meritorious Research in 2003, the Deans’ Award for Meritorious Research in the College of Letters and Science in 2004 and the Cox Family Fund for Excellence Award in 2007. He was named a fellow of the American Physical Society in 2008. Dr. Idzerda also worked as a staff scientist and as head of the artificially structured materials non-linear physics section at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, D.C. He holds a doctorate in physics from the University of Maryland, a master’s degree in physics from the University of Washington, and bachelor’s degrees in physics and electrical engineering, both from Washington University. Interim Chief Financial Officer

The University of Central Florida has appointed Mr. Joseph Trubacz, B.S., M.B.A., as Interim Chief Financial Officer, effective 12/19/2019.

Harris-Stowe State University (HSSU) has selected St. Louis native, Dr. Corey S. Bradford, Sr. as HSSU’s 20th president, effective May 4.  Dr. Bradford has worked in higher education for more than 26 years and currently serves as Senior Vice President for Business Affairs at Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU). Prior to his current position, he served for 16 years within the Southern Illinois University System in various leadership positions. Dr. Bradford earned a Ph.D. in higher education administration from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale; a Harvard Institute for Management Development Educational Certificate from Harvard University; and master’s and bachelor’s degrees in mathematics from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville. Chief Financial Officer

The University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point has appointed Ms. Pratima Gandhi as its new Chief Financial Officer.  Ms. Gandhi is currently the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Bradley University. Ms. Ghandi’s tenure at Bradley spans 27 years where she provided leadership and operational management for all aspects of the financial, business and facilities functions at the university.  Prior to her experience in higher education, she held finance and audit related positions in the private sector and serves on the boards of directors of various community organizations. She holds a B.S. Accounting from Indiana University – Purdue University at Fort Wayne, Indiana. She will assume her new role on June 1, 2020

The Johnson County Community College Board of Trustees unanimously approved the appointment of Dr. Andrew W. Bowne as the college's new President. Dr. Bowne currently serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Ivy Tech Community College. Read more here.

Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost

Dr. William F. “Bill” Tate IV has been appointed as the new Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost of the University of South Carolina. Dr. Tate is currently Dean of the Graduate School and Vice Provost for Graduate Education at Washington University in St. Louis. At Washington University, Tate has held academic and research appointments including in African and African American studies, American culture studies, Center for Applied Statistics and Computation, Institute for Public Health, social policy, urban studies and education. Prior to joining the faculty at Washington University, he held the William L. and Betty F. Adams Chair at Texas Christian University and spent a decade on the faculty of the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He earned his doctorate in mathematics education with a cognate in human development from the University of Maryland, a master’s degree in psychiatric epidemiology from the Washington University School of Medicine, a MAT in mathematical sciences education from the University of Texas at Dallas and a bachelor's degree in economics from Northern Illinois University. Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs

Southern Connecticut State University has appointed Dr. Trudy Milburn as its new Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs. Dr. Milburn currently serves as assistant Dean of the School of Liberal Arts and Science and as Director of Academic Programs at Purchase College, State University of New York. Previously, she was the founder of the Communication Program at California State University, Channel Island where she also worked as co-director of the Center for Community Engagement.  At Baruch College, CUNY, Dr. Milburn was Deputy Director of the Graduate Studies Program in Corporate Communication. She also served six years as the Director of Campus Solutions at Taskstream, where she provided consultations in online and onsite software programs that brought her into close alignment with many accreditation agencies. Dr.Milburn holds a BA in Rhetoric and Communication from the University of California, Davis, an MA in Speech Communication from Texas A&M University, and a PhD in Communication from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. 

Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences

Southern Connecticut State University has appointed Dr. Bruce Kalk as the new Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Kalk joined the faculty at Southern in 1992 as Assistant Professor of History.  He worked his way up through the faculty ranks, serving also as Chair of the Department of History, Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, and then Interim Dean.  He received his baccalaureate degree from the College of William and Mary and his master’s and PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  He is the author of The Origins of the Southern Strategy: Two-Party Competition in South Carolina, 1950-1972.
