Inaugural Dean of the School of Business and Continuing Studies

Morningside College has announced the appointment of Dr. Darrel Sandall as the Inaugural Dean of the School of Business and Continuing Studies. He has been serving as the Assistant Director at the Center for Innovation Management and Business Analytics (CIMBA) at the Florida Institute of Technology and is a tenured Associate Professor of Management in the Bisk College of Business at the Institute. Dr. Sandall is a corporate executive with 15 years experience as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Skills Officer within multiple small, high-growth companies. He has also served as a Management and Innovation Consultant with over 30 years’ experience helping organizations solve some of the most challenging problems.

LeMoyne-Owen College has selected Vernell A. Bennett-Fairs, Ed.D. as the 13th president of the college. Dr. Bennett-Fairs has over 25 years of experience in higher education, most recently serving as vice-president of Student Affairs at Delta State University in Mississippi. She also served in a similar role at HBCU, Kentucky State University. Dr. Bennett-Fairs brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in higher education settings and we feel confident that she will continue the transformation already underway at LeMoyne-Owen College. Interim Vice President for Finance and Operations

Sarah Lawrence College has appointed Mr. Richard Aks as its Interim Vice President for Finance and Operations beginning on January 5, 2021.

Interim Provost

Saint Xavier University has appointed Dr. Michael (Mike) Marsden as Interim Provost. Dr. Marsden will begin his work on the second week of January 2021.

Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs/Dean of the Faculty

Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY, has appointed Dr. Barbara Feldman as Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs/Dean of Faculty. Dr. Feldman was appointed on November 16, 2020.

Provost

Dunwoody College of Technology has announced that Scott Stallman, Ph.D., has been named the College’s new Provost.  Dr. Stallman will be starting his new position in early January, 2021.  He brings with him 13 years of experience leading academic programs, most recently serving as Vice President of Instruction, Chief Academic Officer at Lone Star College in Tomball, Texas. Dr. Stallman earned his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Missouri – Columbia, his Master’s degree in Adult and Higher Education Administration at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and his Doctorate in Higher Education Administration at Illinois State University. Read more here.

Interim Associate Vice President of Admissions

Salem Academy and College has announced the appointment of Dr. Janice Harring-Hendon as Interim Associate Vice President of Admissions. 

Founding Dean of the Lewis School of Health Sciences 

Clarkson University has appointed Dr. Lennart D. Johns as founding dean of its Earl R. and Barbara D. Lewis School of Health Sciences. In his role as Director of General Education for Quinnipiac University, he oversaw the development of a first-year seminar and a senior-level integrative capstone experience.  The primary focus of his academic research has been centered on autoimmunity and injury repair.  Dr. Johns has an undergraduate degree from Lock Haven University, a master of science degree in biology from Bucknell University, and a Ph.D. in cellular and molecular biology from the University of Vermont. He has held many previous positions in his career and served 18 years in academic leadership roles. Johns will officially begin his new position on January 1, 2021.  Read more here.

Executive Dean

St. Joseph’s College of New York has appointed Dr. Eileen White Jahn as the new executive Dean of its Long Island Campus. Dr. Jahn previously served as Interim Executive Dean, and has been on the faculty of the College since 1998. She has taught on both campuses in graduate and undergraduate courses, and in Arts and Sciences and Professional Studies.  She earned a Ph.D. in Organizational Policy Studies from the CUNY Graduate Center, her MBA from NYU and her BA from SUNY Binghamton. Executive Dean

St. Joseph’s College of New York has appointed Dr. Phillip Dehne as the new Executive Dean of its Brooklyn Campus. Dr. Dehn previously served as Associate Chair of the History Department, coordinator of the 100 Freshman Seminar program and teaches courses on British, European, and Global History.  Dr Dehne is the author of several books, most recently After the Great War: Economic Warfare and the Promise of Peace in Paris 1919 (Bloomsbury, 2019).
