Vice President of Student Affairs

Johnson C. Smith University has announced the appointment of Dr. Davida Loren Haywood as vice president for Student Affairs (VPSA). Haywood, a 1998 graduate of Johnson C. Smith University, will be the chief officer responsible for developing a comprehensive program of services for traditional, non-traditional and graduate students.  Dr. Haywood earned a bachelor of science degree in Business Administration (summa cum laude) from Johnson C. Smith University as well as a master of arts degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs and a Ph.D. in Educational Administration and Higher Education from The Ohio State University. She will begin her tenure at JCSU on July 1, 2020. Read more here.

Dean of the Norm Brodsky College of Business.

Rider University has announced that Dr. Eugene Kutcher was appointed the Dean of the Norm Brodsky College of Business. Dr. Kutcher began his appointment on April 1, 2020 after serving as interim dean since September, 2019. His appointment comes 13 years after Dr. Kutcher joined the University as an assistant professor in the Department of Management. He was promoted to associate professor and tenured in 2013 and assumed the role of department chairperson in 2015. In 2013, he received Rider's Distinguished Teaching Award.  Dr. Kutcher graduated from Rutgers University with a double major in business management and psychology, received his master’s from Montclair State University and a doctorate from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in industrial and organizational psychology. Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management

Johnson C. Smith University has appointed Dr. Rhonda Moses as its new Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management. Dr. Moses is presently the Dean of Enrollment Management at Huston-Tillson University, a role she has held since August 2015; prior to that she was Director, Office of Sponsored Programs for Huston-Tillson University. 

Dean of the Graduate School and Vice Provost of Graduate Education

Loyola University Chicago has announced the appointment of Dr. Emily Barman as its Dean of the Graduate School and Vice Provost of Graduate Education. Dr. Barman comes to Loyola from Boston University, where she has served as its Associate Dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and a Professor of Sociology since 2017. Her tenure at Boston University spans over 18 years and along with her impressive academic credentials and work on complex global problems confronting society, Dr. Barman brings an acute understanding of the Jesuit mission and values. She is especially interested in building community and promoting social justice consistent with the strategic vision being developed at Loyola. A recognized researcher and author, Dr. Barman holds Ph.D. and a Master of Arts in Sociology from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Sociology from the University of British Columbia.

Provost and Executive Vice President

Dr. Kenneth F. Newbold, Jr. has been appointed as the next Provost of Benedictine University. Dr. Newbold most recently served as Provost and Executive Vice President at Goshen College in Goshen, Indiana. During his career, Dr. Newbold has actively led academic program development, funding to support research and creative endeavors and partnership development that connected academic programs to external constituents. At Goshen College, he provided direct supervision of the enrollment division which achieved three consecutive years of growth, including the largest incoming first-year class in a decade. Prior to Goshen, Dr. Newbold held a series of progressive leadership roles at James Madison University, leaving the university as Associate Vice Provost for Research and Scholarship. While at JMU, he oversaw the Office of Research and Scholarship during a time of tremendous growth, which included record external funding for research of over $21 million. He led JMU’s federal initiatives and also represented the university with key regional and state constituents. Dr. Newbold graduated from Bridgewater College with a bachelor’s degree in history and political science. He earned a master of public administration degree with a concentration in higher education as well as a Ph.D. in Strategic Leadership from James Madison University. Dr. Newbold will officially assume his new role at Benedictine in May.

Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs

Johnson C. Smith University has appointed Dr. Karen D. Morgan as the new Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs. Dr. Morgan is currently serving as the Interim Assistant Provost for Undergraduate Experience at New Jersey City University. Dr. Morgan earned her bachelor of arts degree in mathematics, master of science degree in mathematics and Ph.D. in higher education/mathematics education from the University of Mississippi. She will begin her tenure at Johnson C. Smith University on July 1, 2020.  Read more here.

President

Mount Aloysius College has appointed Mr. John N. McKeegan, J.D. to serve as the College’s 15th president. Mr. McKeegan is Vice President for Institutional Advancement and General Counsel at Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon, and has held leadership positions there since 2010. Mr. McKeegan will begin his presidency on June 1, 2020. Read more here.

Vice President of Institutional Advancement

Ms. Sarah E. Kelly, a highly accomplished advancement leader, has been named Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Manhattanville College. Ms. Kelly has a proven track record of developing creative fundraising strategies during her successful previous tenures as Vice President for Institutional Advancement, Wheeling Jesuit University and U.S. Advancement Officer and Director of Development, National University of Ireland, Galway. Currently, she serves as Vice President for Development for the League of American Orchestras in New York City. Manhattanville College looks forward to her arrival on campus April 1, 2020.

Vice President of Financial Affairs

Ohio Northern University has selected Mr. Jason Broge as the next Vice President of Financial Affairs. Mr. Broge is currently the Vice President of Business Services and the CFO at Kirtland Community College in Grayling, Michigan, a position he has held since 2010.  Prior to his work at Kirtland, he held financial positions at Eastern Michigan University, Lourdes University, and Adrian College. Mr. Broge has a BS in Business Administration with an accounting major from Central Michigan University, an MA in Organizational Leadership from Siena Heights University, and is a CPA. His appointment is effective July 1, 2020.

Financial Aid Director

Ms. Rochelle D. King has been appointed Financial Aid Director at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC. Most recently Ms. King served at Livingston College as Assistant Director of Financial Aid and prior to that at Shaw University as Financial Aid Director. Ms. King has valuable experience serving Historically Black Colleges and Universities and understands the student population, academic programs, and the relevance of the HBCU experience. She will assume her new role at the University on April 1, 2020.
