Columbus State Community College (CSCC) invites applications and nominations for the inaugural position of Dean of Health & Human Services (HHS). CSCC seeks a dynamic, student-first academic leader committed to student success, access, and academic excellence in an evolving higher education landscape. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs and partnering closely with the President, the Executive Vice President, President’s Cabinet, and leaders across the College, the Dean will guide the strategic direction of the division, which serves thousands of students each term. As the academic leader of one of Columbus State’s crucial divisions, the Dean of Health & Human Services plays an integral role in advancing the College’s mission, vision, values, commitments, and strategic pillars and shaping the academic future of Central Ohio.
The Dean will provide visible, strategic, and transformational leadership to shape an innovative future for the division, overseeing 63 faculty positions and 522 adjunct positions serving a diverse student body that is 50.2% first-generation, 39% students of color, and 80% attending debt free. The Dean will champion student success and career pathways, build a partnership-first culture, grow the program portfolio, lead the division through a significant period of transition including the opening of OhioHealth Hall in 2027, and strengthen resources and operational excellence. A minimum of a Master’s degree from an accredited institution and at least five years of progressive leadership experience are required. A doctoral degree, experience in higher education leadership, a degree in one of the division’s disciplines, and leadership of a Health & Human Services-based department are preferred, as is public-sector experience.
