President Christopher Sindt and the Lewis University community invite nominations and applications for a student-centered and mission-focused leader to serve as the University’s next Provost.

A a comprehensive Catholic university of over 7,000 students sponsored by the De La Salle Christian Brothers, Lewis offers programs from the GED through doctoral degrees and is known for preparing graduates who impact the world for the better. Over the last decade, Lewis has built a strong record of success: expanding academic offerings, advancing student achievement, and strengthening its Catholic and Lasallian identity.

Lewis’s academic enterprise is organized into six colleges and schools – the College of Aviation, Science and Technology; the College of Business; the College of Education and Social Sciences; the College of Humanities, Fine Arts and Communications; the College of Nursing and Health Sciences; and the School of Graduate, Professional & Continuing Education – offering more than 80 undergraduate majors, over 35 graduate programs, and three doctoral degrees.

With 288 full-time faculty and a 13:1 student-to-faculty ratio, Lewis is home to signature programs in aviation, nursing, computer science, cybersecurity, business, and education, including the largest bachelor’s program in nursing among Illinois private, not-for-profit universities. Its nursing and aviation students recently achieved 100 percent pass rates on certification exams. The 2025 merger with St. Augustine College has extended Lewis’s reach into Chicago and deepened its commitment to Hispanic, first-generation, and working adult students, and the next Provost will play a central role in fully realizing the merger’s promise.

In addition to serving as chief academic officer, the Provost holds executive responsibility for student success and enrollment management. Lewis seeks a servant leader who can unite these areas around a compelling vision – one in which access, academic excellence, and career mobility reinforce one another – while honoring the University’s foundational values and shaping its future.
