Vice President of Institutional Advancement

Barry University has selected Bernadine Douglas as their new Vice President of Institutional Advancement. Since 2015, Ms. Douglas has served as the Vice President for Alumni and College Relations at Berea College and has lead the institution through four years of consecutive fundraising growth. Prior to joining Berea, she served for seven years at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) in Daytona Beach as Associate Vice-President and Vice-President of External Relations.  Read more here.

Vice President of Campus Life and Dean of Students

Franklin College in Franklin, Indiana, has selected Dr. Andrew Jones as their new Vice President of Campus Life and Dean of Students. Dr. Jones is currently the Associate Provost and Dean of Student Success at Illinois College. Dr. Jones brings an impressive resume of skills and talents to this position having spent the last 15 years focused on academic performance, the student experience and student success. 

Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Special Assistant to the President

Sarah Lawrence College has annouced the appointment of Ms. Fatiah Touray, Esq. as the new Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Special Assistant to the President.  Previously, Ms. Touray served as Assistant Dean for Diversity and International Students at New York University.  Read more here.

Chief Information Officer / Associate Vice President for IT

Rider University  has annouced the appointment of Mr. Douglas McCrea as its new Associate Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer. The chief information officer position has been elevated to a Cabinet position. Mr. McCrea comes to Rider after 19 years at Rutgers University, where he served in various IT roles with increasing responsibility. He most recently served as the Senior Director of Information Technology at the New Brunswick campus, where he provided both IT management and strategy, and orchestrated IT governance and cybersecurity implementation. Mr. McCrea Doug is an IT thought leader, communicator and innovator with the ability to translate technology and concepts. 

Chief Financial Officer

Clarkson University University has announced the appointment of Mr. Robert A. Cree, currently Vice President and CFO of Wells College, as its new Chief Financial Officer. Through his experience with Wells College and previous financial roles at Ithaca College, Mr. Cree is well versed in the intricacies of the New York State higher education financial environment as well as the national marketplace for colleges and universities. With career roles spanning the banking industry, private sector companies and higher education, Mr. Cree brings a wide range of financial management experience including budgeting and financial planning, policy development and compliance and fund investment. He holds a B.S. Accounting from SUNY Empire State College and an M.B.A from Ithaca College. 

Chancellor

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has named Dr. Anette M. Karlsson as Chancellor of the University’s campus in Prescott, Arizona. Dr. Karlsson is a mechanical and aerospace engineer and a highly accomplished academic leader.  A Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Karlsson earned her Ph.D. in mechanical and aerospace engineering at Rutgers University, within the area of applied mechanics. She completed her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Linkoping University in Sweden. Read more here.

President

The Claflin University Board of Trustees has announced the appointment of Dr. Dwaun J. Warmack as the ninth president of the first Historically Black College and University (HBCU) in South Carolina, effective August 1, 2019. Dr. Warmack will assume the mantle of leadership at Claflin after serving the last five years as President of Harris-Stowe State University in Missouri.  Dr. Warmack earned a Bachelor's degree in Education and Master's degree in Sociology from Delta State University, his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Union University and completed post-doctoral work at Harvard University School of Education.  Read more here.

Founding Dean of the College of Osteopathic Medicine

The Kansas Health Science Center has announced the appointment of Dr. Robert Hasty as the Founding Dean of the College of Osteopathic Medicine.  Since 2016, Dr. Hasty has been serving as the Founding Dean and Chief Academic Officer at the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine (ICOM) while concurrently serving as a Professor of Internal Medicine. Dr. Hasty was instrumental in the creation of ICOM, a private, for-profit medical school nestled on the campus of Idaho State University’s Health Science Center in Meridian. During Dr. Hasty’s tenure, ICOM established itself as a titan in the field of osteopathic medicine. The school’s strong inaugural class, its more than 35 affiliate sites for clinical rotations, and excellent standing with the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA), can be attributed to Dr. Hasty’s leadership and guidance.

President

The College of St. Scholastica has named Dr. Barbara McDonald as its 13th president. Since 2015, Dr. McDonald has been the president of North Hennepin Community College in the Twin Cities suburb of Brooklyn Park. Previously, she was interim president of Minnesota West Technical and Community College. Dr. McDonald earned a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Colorado Boulder, a master's degree in teaching English as a foreign language from American University in Cairo (Egypt) and a Doctor of Education degree from the University of Minnesota. She will formally step into her new role on August 5th, 2019.  Read more here.

Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs

The Board of Trustees of St. John's University, with the support of the University’s senior leadership team, has appointed Dr. Simon Møller to serve as Provost and VPAA effective July 1, 2019.  Dr. Møller has been serving in this position in an interim capacity since July 1st of last year.  As interim Provost, he has been an exemplary partner and collegial member of the University’s senior leadership team. He is a distinguished and internationally known expert on neurodegenerative diseases particularly in the neuroscience of Parkinson’s disease.  While serving as interim Provost, he has continued to publish in highly respected journals and supervise an active research lab.  Dr. Møller has received international recognition for his contribution to the sciences and is an elected member of The Norwegian Academy of Science and Technology.
