President

Hope College has appointed Mr. Matthew A. Scogin as its new President. He will begin in the role on July 1, 2019, and replaces the current interim president, the Rev. Dr. Dennis N. Voskuil.  Mr. Scogin is a truly remarkable non-traditional candidate. Currently, he serves as Chief Administrative Officer for Perella Weinberg Partners of New York. Prior to this, he served NYSE Euronext as Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff, Wachovia Bank as Vice President and Senior Advisor to the CEO, and the US Treasury Department as Senior Advisor for Domestic Finance. He serves on the Board of Trustees at Hope College where he earned a Bachelors in economics and political science. He received a Masters in public policy with concentration in economic policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.  In addition, Mr. Scogin serves the Lower Manhattan Community Church in NYC as Lay Pastor and CFO. He is on the Board of Directors for Restore NYC (a Christian nonprofit dedicated to ending human trafficking in NYC), and, the SIFMA Foundation (a nonprofit dedicated to financial literacy and education).  To read more, please click on this link.

Blackburn College has announced the appointment of Dr. Julie Murray-Jensen as its 17th President. Dr. Murray-Jensen will be on campus in Carlinville, Illinois, beginning January 14, 2019. Dr. Murray-Jensen is currently the Vice President of Enrollment and External Affairs and Executive Director of the KCC Foundation for Klamath Community College in Klamath Falls, Oregon. She has held previous positions with University of Virginia, Pacific University, University of Minnesota, University of Pittsburgh, University of Nebraska—Kearney, Bowling Green—Ohio, and the University of Nebraska—Lincoln. She earned her B.S. degree from the University of Nebraska—Lincoln in 1991. She received her Master’s degree in Education from Bowling Green—Ohio in 1994, and her Ed.D. from Oregon State University in 2018.  Additional information is available here

Program Director, Doctor of Physical Therapy Program

The University of New England has appointed Dr. Jennifer Audette as the new Program Director for its Doctor of Physical Therapy Program.  Dr. Audette, a Clinical Associate Professor in the Physical Therapy Department at University of Rhode Island, is an active member of the APTA, Health Volunteers Overseas, and the World Confederation for Physical Therapy. She initiated the Broadening Experience at URI, which allows students to broaden their view of the profession of physical therapy locally, nationally and internationally through two-week non-clinical experiences. She has done physical therapy related work in China, Haiti, Suriname, and Guatemala. Dr. Audette earned a Ph.D. in Education from University of Rhode Island, an advanced Master's degree in physical therapy from Boston University and B.S. in physical therapy from Northeastern University.

Dean of the School of Engineering

Liberty University has announced the appointment of Dr. Mark F. Horstemeyer as the new Dean of the School of Engineering. 

Dr. Horstemeyer comes to Liberty University from Mississippi State University, where he has taught computational manufacturing and design as a Giles Distinguished Professor. He also served as Chair for Computational Solid Mechanics in the University’s Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems (CAVS), one of the world’s premier automotive research centers. As a global pioneer in Integrated Computational Materials Engineering (ICME), Dr. Horstemeyer is the founder and President of two start-up companies: Predictive Design Technologies and Yobel Technologies.

Dr. Horstemeyer holds a Ph.D. from the Georgia Institute of Technology, a Master of Science from Ohio State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from West Virginia University.

Director, Applied Technology Master's and Graduate Certificate Program

Agnes Scott College has appointed Carlee A. Bishop as their next Director of Applied Technology. Dr. Bishop received her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Auburn University and has most recently served as Principal Research Engineer at Georgia Tech Research Institute.

Dean of Graduate Studies

Nebraska Wesleyan University’s inaugural Dean of Graduate Studies will be Dr. Jennifer A. Ziegler. Dr. Ziegler most recently served as the Dean of Graduate School and Continuing Education at Valparaiso University in Indiana.

Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

The Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute has selected Barbara Hough as their new Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the institution. Prior to her appointment, Ms. Hough served as the Vice President, Controller and Treasurer at Columbia University.

General Counsel

The Board of trustees at Texas Christian University has appointed Larry Leroy "Lee" Tyner as the first in-house General Counsel of the university. Mr. Lee Tyner is currently at the University of Mississippi where he has served as the chief legal officer.

Assistant Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid

The Candler School of Theology Assistant Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid Search Committee has completed its work and appointed Samuel J. Martinez to the position. Most recently Dr. Martinez has served as Assistant Director for Recruitment and Southern Methodist University, Perkins School of Theology.

Chief Information Officer

Raechelle “Rae” Clemmons has been voted to serve as the next chief information officer (CIO) for Texas Woman's University. Rae serves as the CIO at Davidson College in North Carolina.
