December 2019 - Mr. Joseph Trubacz, a 30-year veteran of higher-education leadership, has been hired as the University of Central Florida's Interim Chief Financial Officer and will serve until a new CFO is hired by UCF’s next president, who is anticipated to start this summer. Mr. Trubacz replaces Mr. Dennis Crudele, who was appointed to the temporary position last May. UCF is located in Orlando, FL. Read more here.

10/18/2019 - The New College of Florida in Sarasota, FL, has appointed Mr. Randy Harrell as Interim Dean of Student Affairs. 

08/19/2019 - The New College of Florida has announced Mr. David Rhodes, MBA, as the Interim Dean for Enrollment Management. Mr. Rhodes will serve as the interim dean of enrollment management until a new dean is hired. 

07/24/2019 - Florida A&M University (FAMU) President Larry Robinson, Ph.D., announced the appointment of Richard Schweigert as the University’s Interim Chief Financial Officer and Vice President for Finance and Administration. He is scheduled to begin work at FAMU on August 1. Prior to accepting the position at FAMU, Schweigert served as CFO and Director of Government Relations for the Colorado State University System for 10 years. Florida A&M is located in Tallahasee.

04/23/2019 - Dr. Dale Whittaker, President of the University of Central Florida has appointed Ms. Misty Shepherd, associate vice president and CFO at the UCF Foundation, as Interim Vice President for Administration and Finance. Misty has been with UCF since 2008 and CFO of the UCF Foundation since 2014. UCF is located in Orlando, FL.

April 20, 2019 - University of Central Florida has hired Mr. Dennis Crudele as the university’s long-term interim Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Crudele will begin on May 6. He brings to UCF more than 30 years of higher education experience, including 28 years at Florida Atlantic University, and has held a number of administrative posts at FAU, including senior vice president for financial affairs and chief financial officer. Montana Technological University has selected Dr. Steve Gammon as its next Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. Dr. Gammon currently serves as Dean of the College of Letters, Sciences, and Professional Studies at Montana Tech, a position he has held since 2018. Prior to his arrival at Montana Tech, he served as Provost and VPAA at the University of Maine at Fort Kent. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his B.A. in Chemistry from Bowdoin College. Dr. Gammon will begin the transition to Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs on January 1, 2020, and will assume the position full-time on February 1.  Read more here.

The University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute has named leading population health researcher Lawrence Brown, Ph.D., as the next director of County Health Rankings & Roadmaps.  The County Health Rankings & Roadmaps is a partnership between the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute. Dr. Brown is an expert on health equity and the impact of historical trauma on community health, and is currently an associate professor in the School of Community Health and Policy at Morgan State University. Dr. Brown earned his doctorate in health outcomes and policy research from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, his master’s degree in public administration from the University of Houston, and his bachelor’s degree in African American studies from Morehouse College.  Read more here.

The University of Nebraska Board of Regents has chosen Vice Admiral Walter "Ted" Carter as the eighth president of the University of Nebraska system. Vice Admiral Carter most recently served as Superintendent of the U.S. Naval Academy.

The North Dakota State Board of Higher Education has selected Dr. Andrew Armacost as the 13th president of the University of North Dakota. Dr. Armacost recently completed his service as Dean of the Faculty at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Read more here.
