The Siena College community seeks an innovative, experienced, and student-centered Dean of the School of Science. Working in close collaboration with the School’s dedicated faculty and staff, Provost & Senior Vice President, and collegial peer academic deans, the Dean of the School of Science will lead the school to its next level of academic rigor, strategic enrollment growth, and student success in the context of its Franciscan mission, core values, and commitment to “The Education for a Lifetime.”

Siena College, located just outside Albany, NY, is a Franciscan and Catholic four-year, private, coeducational liberal arts college. A thriving institution with nearly 3,500 undergraduate and 138 graduate students, 48 majors, 3 master’s degrees, and more than 80 minors and certificates, Siena’s approximately 200 full-time and 117 part-time faculty provide an education that is rigorous, personal, and hands-on.

Home to seven academic departments that include 20 undergraduate majors and 13 minors, the School of Sciences’ 65 full-time and 31 adjunct part-time dedicated and accomplished faculty and 14 staff are deeply committed to student engagement and success both inside and outside the classroom. The School’s approximately 1,000 undergraduate students drive innovative research in a variety of areas that is funded by national agencies including the NSF, NASA, and the Department of Energy.

Siena College’s next Dean of the School of Science will be a collaborative, collegial, servant leader who can build on the College’s Catholic Franciscan liberal arts mission to position its rich breadth of science and health-related programs, strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and student engagement, and institutional support for faculty development and research in a competitive higher education marketplace.
